Rip shifts focus to producing movies after 25 years in music
Hey family — hope you’re all doing well!
Earlier this year, after 25 years in the music business, I launched my media production company, RIP ENT, LLC, to expand into something I’ve loved since childhood: Filmmaking.
About 9 months ago, a friend asked me: “If you had a $6 million budget, what movie would you make?”
This summer, I’m answering that question — not with $6 million, or $600k, or even $60k — but with faith, grit, and an incredible team.
We’re producing my dream passion project: a 1990s coming-of-age narrative film about four boys navigating life, loss, love, and faith during the summer of ‘98.
It’s got everything — summer fun, family struggle, heartbreak, hope — all grounded in an authentic story that means the world to me.
🎬 We’ve already assembled an amazing pre-production team of 9 dedicated creatives.
🎭 Half our cast is locked in, with some traveling across state lines on their own dime because they believe in this story.
🎥 We’ve secured most of our props and gear — and we’ve raised $1,200 so far, mostly from donations of $100 or less. That’s already gone a LONG way.
We’re pushing forward on faith, but to bring this film to life at the level we know it can reach — we need your help.
If you’ve ever wanted to support my creative journey, now is the time.
Please visit: www.90s.movie and check out our Production Needs or Donate tab.
Even the smallest gift helps. And if you contribute $100+, we’ll list you in the film credits as a Premier Supporter.
If you’re interested in a larger role, I’d love to talk about Executive Producer opportunities as well.
This project is more than a movie — it’s a launchpad for dozens of passionate cast and crew members, and a story that will inspire many.
Thank you all for the love and support over the years.
God bless. 🙏
